The power inherent in each five-minute period is discussed, as well as ideas around inheritance. Because the formless can be funny, this is the longest essay of the bunch! It takes a number of five-minute periods to read.
Opening words:
This piece was commissioned, bespoken by my higher self. Vague ideas for its content began to swirl around when I was given the title, but no clear starting point. That seems to be the case with these assignments, so I let it be okay. Not knowing a direction while at the same time being content with this quasi-limbo state can lead to interesting insights and surprises. I have found that when I do not judge what seems to be a stoppage or a state of uncertainty, this acceptance provides space for flow to enter.
A few days later I was doing yoga, immersed in the moment and in my calm mind. I half-consciously asked for guidance as I went into a stretch and then promptly shifted my attention back to the pose. I suddenly heard thoughts of addiction, habit, tradition, and doing things a particular way because “that is the way they’ve always been done.”
